Enjoy a safe and engaging track day at Lakeside Raceway with structured sessions, instructor guidance, and optional licence testing and data analysis.
Lakeside Raceway track days are run in a structured, supportive format for new, intermediate, and advanced drivers and is a half-day event running from 8.30am till 12:30pm.
Sessions are grouped by experience to ensure safe spacing, smooth traffic flow, and consistent lap opportunities.
Track days are open to any closed-wheel road or race car, subject to Lakeside noise limits. Drivers rotate through 20-minute sessions, allowing time to review feedback, cool vehicles, and steadily build confidence. Experienced instructors are available in every session and can provide one-on-one in-car guidance where required.
New drivers complete a performance driving theory session followed by a guided low-speed track familiarisation before open running begins. Circuit configurations may vary from session to session to keep the experience engaging and educational.
Events run as half-day formats, with coffee and cold refreshments provided. Optional extras include personal coaching, Motorsport Australia licence testing, and helmet hire.
Format
To enable all attendee’s the chance to lap in a relaxed and safe environment, the days are divided into sessions catering for new drivers, intermediate drivers and advanced drivers.
- Open to any closed wheel road or race car. (Noise restrictions apply)
- Each group will rotate through one 20min sessions / hour providing plenty of track time, low pupil to instructor ratio (
approx 2:1) and most importantly a chance for you and your car to cool down. Experienced instructors are included and on
hand in every session to sit with you and provide one on one instruction where required. - All new drivers will participate in a Performance Driving theory session followed by group track reconnaissance with an
instructor for their first laps. - Option to bring a second driver to share your car in your sessions. (Must attend morning drivers briefing)
- Different circuit configurations in the morning and afternoon. Mocopan coffee service plus cold refreshments will be supplied.
Times
Days kick off at 8.30am sharp for a mandatory safety briefing, followed by a performance drivers’ briefing with cars on track by 9.10am for a low-speed group track familiarisation session.
Groups then rotate through a minimum of 3 x 20-minute sessions. The day wraps up at around 12.30pm.
