Lakeside Raceway, officially known today as Lakeside Park, is one of Queensland’s most iconic and historic motorsport circuits, located about 30 km north of Brisbane beside Lake Kurwongbah. Since opening in 1961, it has been a favourite among drivers and fans for its challenging layout, classic racing heritage, and technical corners that reward precision and skill.
The circuit runs in a counter-clockwise direction with eight corners over approximately 2.4 km, making it both compact and engaging for driving days, testing, and club motorsport events. Its fast sections and tricky corners have tested generations of competitors and helped develop some of Australia’s most respected racing talent.
Lakeside has a rich history of hosting top-level competition, including rounds of the Australian Touring Car Championship, the Australian Grand Prix, and major superbike races.
After a period of closure in the early 2000s, the circuit reopened and today continues as a thriving venue for club racing, track days, driver training, and a variety of automotive events that draw enthusiasts from across South East Queensland.
Known for its proximity to Brisbane and its deep roots in Queensland motorsport culture, Lakeside offers drivers a rewarding experience that blends heritage, challenge, and community.
